How a naked female “scientist” tries to tame belugas in the freezing Arctic
Ladies and Gentlemen followers, wrap up warm, this crock of an experiment will chill you to the core..
Some bright sparks at Utrish Dophinarium, Russia (a facility for capturing and taming marine mammals before shipping them off to facilities around the world) conducted an experiment to see if a naked person would have more luck taming Beluga whales, as their marine experts believe belugas do not like to be touched by artificial materials such as diving suits.
36 Year old Natalia Avseenko threw sanity, caution and clothes to the wind and jumped in 1.5℃ water in the hope that her lack of clothes would allow her a better rapport with the whales (!) by a lack of hindrance to their echo location!
I apologise for my bias in bringing you this information, but please…read through the article from the UK’s prestigious Daily Mail and let me know what you think?

I think this is incredible, personally. To be that daring and willing to see if it would work is amazing. I love it.

Well…kudos to her for being bonkers enough to get in that water. What I want to know is—did it actually WORK?

publicity stunt, no doubt. :/ how about we stop capturing belugas from the wild and just leave them be?
